Now that the coup against Trump has failed, what do we do about the conspirators? Forgive and forget and move on? Or should there be consequences? If there is no retribution it will only affirm for the elites that they are still firmly in control of the Republican Party. While control of the U. S. Senate is important, I submit there is a much more significant issue here- namely, who will control the Republican Party- the elites or the voters. Those who participated in this coup attempt (you know who they are) must be defeated even if it means voting for a democrat.
First focus on winning.
While tacitly cutting them off from any levers of power or authority....
If Ryan were a warrior fighting corruption his foolishness would be forgivable. He is not and it is not. He is a corrupt coward who deserves expulsion from any position of trust.
“Those who participated in this coup attempt (you know who they are) must be defeated even if it means voting for a democrat.”
Not so fast! That’s not for deciding for quite a while yet.
I can tell you from first hand discussions (and there were hundreds), that the overall consistence at the Lakeland rally yesterday, that any Republican that does not support Trump will not get their vote.
Not all will instead vote for the Dem but for sure not vote for the nevertrumpers.
When you shoot at the king, you had better kill him.
Hang them all.
“Forgive” but don’t forget. Move on until the next elections and then primary every single traitor. Until then though, we need those opportunists. They will be loyal to whomever can maintain their power for the moment, so they will follow President Trump while he is in office, until the 2020 election starts.
A bullet ballot has just one race voted on. Vote for President and leave other races blank.
