Stopped trophies at 8 years old. Stop “Snacks” then too. You playing football? You can bring your own water.

True Story: Mom has bad day, witnesses car accident on the way to bringing her son to practice.

Me and my friend are coaching. Great guy. We’re having fun with the kids - we’re smacking helmets, shoulder pads when they do a good job, great technique. He smacked a few kids on the butt.

Mother goes to League Official - “He’s touching the kids too much” League official who was at the practice field calls us over: Says to Mother: What are you telling me? “He’s touching the kids too much”. Touching?? These are two of the best coaches I know. What are you telling me?

She gave up, went away crying and then pulled her son from the team. The next day, kids Dad called me to apologize and put the kid back on the team.

League Official says to me: “You just learned the hard way to organize your practices as far away as possible from the Motherss”

Good grief!

In some areas they still give out trophies, you know the things Rush always harps about. Every kid gets one at end of season. I know in my area all the kids do. Personally I don’t care, whatever.

As for the “touching” clearly she does not understand football. I disagree with the water part. There should always be water around. This summer we had a heat wave. Call me a overprotective mom but don’t want heat strokes when you all are out there slamming at each other.
