Even better, why issue weapons at all for our Troops in combat?
Just let them just go into battle with peace and love in their hearts. </typicalliberal>

So if a real shooter puts orange tape on his gun, what are the disarmed sheeple going to do?

So, when setting out on a murderous rampage, swath your firearm in high-viz orange, so as to set minds at ease while they're being punctured by projectiles of unknown origin, since they obviously can't be coming from your replica firearm swathed in orange...
Ugh.

I’m thinking of painting the muzzles of all my EBRs dayglo orange.

students and faculty have mistaken drills by cadets with inert guns as dangerous active shooters. Bullshit. There's no mistake ... these worthless pajamaboys and snowflakegirls are deliberately SWATting the ROTC. They know full well it's the ROTCs and not "active shooters". They're lying.

Sign of the times; better just issue them squirt guns.

Sooooo ... it isn’t against the law to paint the tips of real guns orange, is it?

ROTC on our local college campus was performing color guard drill practice using inert M1s and someone called in an active shooter report to campus police.
Yeah, that guy in the chrome helmet is going to shoot up the place.

In the `60s when I was 12 and 13 I carried a Browning .22 down the street and out of town for target shooting, and a Chinese bolt-action carbine my Dad brought back from Vietnam to school for show-and-tell.
Way to go `rats. I don’t recognize this country anymore. The frightened barnyard fowl have taken over.
Go TRUMP! Win win win.

Oh I see... so if you see a gun with ORANCE on it, it is fake and you shouldn’t worry
That will sure outsmart the terrorists!

I had my medics prepare for the EFMB with a road march every Friday afternoon for weeks. My admin officer dug up a bunch of rubber M16s. I wondered what the point was. I am certain they were not cheaper, it wasn’t like there weren’t plenty of real ones around.
I think the poster makes a good point, the next jihadi can just put orange tape on his weapon and the uncertainty just could buy him a few additional kills.

I think it would make more sense to find all the dimwits who mistook ROTC exercises for active shooter situations and wrap them (the dimwits, not the ROTC) in high viz orange tape.
It’s likely they’re morons in other areas of life as well. This way we all would be able to tell in advance who they are.

You make a good point about the SWAT-ing but many of these snowflakes have a real panic attack when they see a firearm because of their indoctrination.

I just saw a recent photo from my college ROTC group. The flash suppressors on the ‘Rubber Ducks’ were painted orange.

I once attended a wedding on board a Naval Base, along with my wife and someone we both knew from church, who was a bit of a pajamaboy (before the term had been invented). So I drive up to the gate, the SP "greets" us (ID, what are you here for? ...) Wife and I are sort of bored ... PJB in the back seat starts having some sort of panic attack. The guard talking to us had a holstered pistol; the guard behind him had M16. After we get through the gate, I asked PJB if he was OK ... "I didn't know they'd have
guns". sez he.
The tone of horror with which he said "guns" can't really be replicated in writing ...
