Well if you’re serious about fighting a war on drugs, that’s what you do. Any thing else is half-assed.
Agreed. Politics is the art of the possible. And there is no way that a draconian system such as that in Singapore would ever be adopted in the US. So, given that we aren’t going to get downright medieval about enforcing drug prohibitions, probably the best bet is to look at the other side of the spectrum and some form of legalization. At least you reduce some of the social costs of addiction.
