Immunity deals stopped FBI from investigating BleachBit use in Clinton email case
Washington Examiner ^ | 10/5/2016 | Sarah Westwood

Immunity agreements offered to two of Hillary Clinton's top aides prevented the FBI from looking into the circumstances surrounding the use of BleachBit, a digital deletion tool, to destroy the former secretary of state's emails.

In a letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch Wednesday, four Republican committee chairmen demanded to know why Cheryl Mills and Heather Samuelson, two witnesses who also served as Clinton's personal attorneys, were granted such expansive protections despite the FBI's awareness that they had participated in potentially illegal activities.

For example, the FBI agreed to limit its search to emails written after June 1, 2014, but before Feb. 1, 2015. By doing so, investigators were barred from looking at emails authored around the time Mills and David Kendall, Clinton's lead attorney, held a pair of conference calls with technology contractor Paul Combetta that immediately preceded his use of BleachBit to erase thousands of Clinton's emails.

The GOP lawmakers noted that, before the FBI signed off on the immunity deals, "it already knew of the conference calls between Secretary Clinton's attorneys and Mr. Combetta, his use of BleachBit and the resulting deletions, further casting doubt on why the FBI would enter into such a limited evidentiary scope of review with respect to the laptops."

Then the immunity deals accomplished exactly what this administration meant to accomplish.

So, the FBI is blaming itself for hampering itself? Regular geniuses.

Will someone wake me when ANYONE from this ‘transparent’ and ‘ethical’ administration is arrested or even fired! They are breaking procedural rule after rule with impunity and everyone knows it!

VOTE TRUMP otherwise it rewards them!

the investigation was designed by the CLINTONS....

but considering the constraint parameters it seems a new INVESTIGATION can be justified and without immunity...

when you craft a deal with such specific timeframe and athen allow the immune to participate in a “voluntary” interview wht you have is OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE
and thus
a new admin caoudl initiate a case against COMEY who does not have IMMUNITY
and probably doesn’t want to do time in a FED prison....

Comey should resign in disgrace or be impeached.

Nixon erased 18 minutes of tape and his presidency was over. Clinton and company erased/disposed of at least 30,000 emails and she very well may be the next president. The rule of law is dead in Washington DC. Lynch and Comey are real POS.

When Congress fell for arguments that an Independent Prosecutor would never be needed, they opened the door to the level of corruption that now exists at the DOJ and FBI under Obama-Clinton.

Nope, not buying it. Immunity deals do NOT stop investigations. If anything, immunity deals allow for investigations to get past resistance a defendant might have to the investigation for fear of prosecution.

This is only a smoke screen to hide the like of political will to pursue an investigation. Political cover, nothing more.

And desire to cover up the truth is what led to the immunity deals. So desire to cover up the truth is what stopped FBI from investigating BleachBit use in Clinton email case

Time for a complete House investigation of the FBI and Comey.

It wouldn’t need a Special Prosecutor which the Dems would block until Hell froze over.

If Trump wins the presidency, he can ask that a Special Commission (not prosecutor) be set up to investigate the FBI, IRS, DHS, HSS, Interior, BLM, US Forest Service and Park Service, DOD, etc. and their illegal or unethical conduct, regulations, rules, etc.

If the Republicans keep control of both the House and Senate (and lighting takes out McConnell), they could investigate the crap out of the Democrats and boy would the American public be surprised what they will uncover.

I want the first job as investigator. I would make the Roto-Rotor Man’s tool seem like a hand-drill as compared to what I would bring in to dig through the crap, corruption, incompetence and deliberate obstruction of justice by all of the above, plus more.

I have never seen such a corrupt government in all my years either in government service or as a reporter. It is out of control and is destroying our country.

The FBI now obstructs justice. Those at the FBI doing so are criminals who need to be prosecuted.

When Trump is elected he really needs to clean house from these incompetent baffoons. I am not just talking about the DOJ, I am talking from every department. He should walk up to the Unions and say were are going to renegotiate contracts. If you don’t like it we will hire others to do their jobs and they can go seek work elsewhere. It worked for Reagan with the Air Traffic Controllers. One can say the government has become too large. In some aspects I agree. However, its the real fact that the workers in the government have become complacent in jobs they know they cannot be fired from. THis needs to be removed. Locally, I knew of a position that was only going to be open for a week at the VA. As sson as it appeared on USAJObs website I sent my resume in. Two days later I had a rejection notice and the position was closed. They had already knew who the position was going to before even opening the position for applicants. I had been talking with them everyday for almost two years at that point. The VA is corrupt always has been. Its staffed with people who think they are entitled to cushy jobs because of the color of their skin. I know who the job went to which was a family member of one of the executives at that VA. No way anyone was going to get that job. When I inquired they said happens all the time. No fairness in that. Trump needs to fix the VA our military and more. Remember Clinton said he reduced the government on his watch. He counted members of the military he reduced as part of his reduction count while increasing the civilian job count.
