There are some long championship droughts among this group of playoff teams this year.

The Cubs last went to the World Series in 1945, and last won it all in 1908.

The Texas Rangers and Washington Nationals have never won a World Series in either franchise history. The Nats have never even been to a World Series, either since their move to Washington, or during their time in Montreal.

The Orioles haven’t won a World Series since 1983.

The Cleveland Indians haven’t won a World Series since 1948.

Anything can happen of course. But it’s quite possible, that some teams with long droughts will be in the World Series and/or reward long suffering fans with a World Series title.

I'm picking the opposite for the Wildcard Games:

Orioles
Mets
