Darrell Collison, of Charity, Missouri, may have already shot the biggest buck in the state this year.
Just 3 days into the bow-hunting season, Darrell has bagged himself a buck that is making waves in the hunting world. The buck was green scored at 153 typical and non-typical 220 4/8 gross and 208 1/8 net with 29 points, however, the Dallas County game warden later came up with 36 points.
The pictures of this buck will send chills down your spine, dont believe us? Check them out:
Because...
NEVER forget that these delicious foods were once a beautiful, vibrant and living animal. Just be grateful what they've given you!
But are they gluten free?
Your post proves we have gotten to far away from the farm. God provides us food but he doesn’t put it on our plates.
Every year growing up on the farm from mid-March thru mid September we killed 2 chickens - 1 for Sunday dinner and 1 for either canning or the freezer, as you can guess every Sunday dinner was chicken.
We would always kill a deer in the fall to tide us over for the winter.
If our country goes to he!! in a handbasket, I would be able to take care of myself - hope the same goes for the majority on this board.
It’s not wrong to hunt, it’s what you do with it after you’ve killed it.
I prefer to make deer jerkey these days, got some great tasking recipes!
Good luck to you in the event of the collapse of the US.
I’ve never seen a Belgian Blue before. He looks as though he were a poster bull for Bowflex. Thank you, learned something new.
I usually go for something more tender myself. But If I’d have seen him, I’d have to harvest him.
BTW I’ve got a paleolithic elk horn mount cast out of polymer resin mounted on an elk cape I took years ago. I had a friend who’s passed now cast it for a museum and he made me one. It’s over 8 feet across and fits in the cathedral ceiling over the fireplace. That’s my only trophy mount. There’s an obsidian tipped spear laying across the antlers.
I have never hunted deer simply because I do not like venison, but realize if some sort of population control did not exist for them their numbers would exceed their food supply.
Just one example: During a harsh winter they herded up, numbering in the hundreds, looking for food. When near a highway, they were hit like bugs on a windshield, carcasses all over the road, the ditch, some made it to the nearby field to die. Some actually keeled over from starvation.
Their natural population control, bear and lion, are few to non-existent. State Fish & Game departments issue hunting licenses with their numbers geared towards population control and keeping the animals healthy.
An arrow or bullet, IMO, is a more humane way to kill one than for a predator to chase it down and rip it’s throat out or worse yet eat it while it’s still alive.
The link below shows a bear eating it’s prey alive - very graphic. Which is why I’d rather see them killed by a hunter.

Yes, they are beautiful things.
Some people think vegetables and fruit are beautiful. They even pose them and paint pictures of baskets of fruit. Guess we can’t eat anything organic according to your way of thinking. Enjoy eating your rocks.
Oh, go back to your tofu and arugula over at DU.
Looks like it is 18 points, not 36. How exactly do you determine the score?
It was an animal , not a person.
Humans have been hunting animals since time began...
LMAO.
Antlers are shed each year . The rings have nothing to do with age.
Also, most likely it was from a deer farm where they breed the deer to have a high number of points. To me I like fewer points that are well structured and symetric.
It likely isn’t as old as some think, probably 5-6. The rack will go downhill after that. It is a whitetail, and while a great deer, it actually is just a bit over the minimum for entry into the record book, I think is 195. The world record is like 330 something, also from Mo. It isn’t anywhere near that class.
Mmmmm — pressure flakers and billets...! ‘-)
I remember traveling with our 4-rear-old daughter once when we passed a ranch. There were a bunch of Texas Longhorns and buffalo out there, and I remarked, “Mmmmm, steak on the hoof!” She asks what I meant, with a somewhat horrified tone. I asked her where she thought meat came from. She said, hopefully, “HEB?” I had to give her the news that HEB got the meat from a ranch like the one we were passing at that moment. But she was four years old.
