Global warming milestone as scientists warn Earth has passed carbon tipping point 'for good'

Atmospheric carbon dioxide has reached a historic threshold as levels remain above 400 parts per million through the end of September – the point in which values typically drop to their lowest.

Climate scientists now warn that it’s ‘almost impossible’ that these numbers will fall next month, and likely won’t dip below 400ppm in the foreseeable future.

While there may be brief, daily events in which the levels fall short of this amount, monthly values are set to keep climbing as the ‘rising half of the cycle’ begins, when carbon dioxide could even break 410 ppm.

CLIMATE CHANGE IS ALREADY CAUSING DEATHS

A new study has revealed the dangers of climate change are already affecting humanity and led to the death of hundreds of people across Europe sixteen years ago. A heatwave in 2003 killed 506 people in Paris and 315 in London, experts have said in a new study.

A fifth of those deaths can be blamed on man-made pollution.

The study led by University of Oxford scientists said there were 315 heat-related deaths in London as Europe experienced its hottest summer on record, out of which 64 were caused by climate change.

Women, children and minorities hardest hit.

I wish I had some tires to burn.

We can just call that the New Normal Climate. Now we can get some sleep.

Here's a chart of world-wide temperatures for the last 1 million years. Look at it carefully:

You'll note that around 150,000 years ago, before the last major glaciation, temperatures world-wide, and in Europe, were a lot warmer. Palms grew along the Thames river in England, with crocodiles and hippos splashing in the river.

To the Daily Telegraph's writers, you can't ignore the record when you are a scientist. You can if you are a journalist trying to sell papers.

Well good. So there's no point trying to stop it.

1) The CO2 station in Hawaii is downwind from a volcano that has become active (again) in the last few years.

2) The deaths in Europe because of the heat were due to electricity grid brownouts and blackouts that could not support the air conditioners. It was a lousy power grid that was the problem.

Past the tipping point, there’s nothing we can do. Good, then no one would object if we divest ourselves of all investments, green subsidies, carbon credits, and research in this field.

Exactly, the "scientists" didn't think anyone would remember that pesky fact. They make it sound like folks were just walking around when they suddenly keeled over and succumbed to "carbon poisoning." LOL!

It's not historic. Real scientists tell us the level has been much higher in past millenia. The announced "scary level" is simply an insignificant amount, especially considering it's a natural component of the atmosphere...NOT a toxic pollutant.

Here's a little grade-school math:

Four hundred One millionths = 400/1,000,000
Divide by 100....400/1000000 = 4/10,000ths
Divide by four 4/10,000 = 1/2500th
1/2500 = 0.0004 = .04%
AKA: Four hundredths of a percent.

That's not even close to one percent.

For comparison sake, Oxygen is 21% of the atmosphere, Nitrogen is 78%.

HELL-freaking-LOW!

Thanks, very well explained to show how an insignificant amount it is.

These "scientists" manipulate the numbers in order to try and scare the uninformed.

These people should be shot.

This is based on one data point in HI at an observatory on the Mauna Loa Volcano.

Here's a list of some volcanic gases from wiki:

The principal components of volcanic gases are water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), sulfur either as sulfur dioxide (SO2) (high-temperature volcanic gases) or hydrogen sulfide (H2S) (low-temperature volcanic gases), nitrogen, argon, helium, neon, methane, carbon monoxide and hydrogen.

Observation:

CO2 levels are higher than usual near a volcano.

Conclusion:

World is going to end.

Solution:

Communism

really wish these “global warming” fearmongers would take the time to learn about the carbon cycle before they spout off any more ignorant rubbish. I suspect that many of the drivers of “global warming” hysteria are perfectly aware of the central role of CO2 in maintaining life—and that their end game is actually extinction of all life.””

Absolutely spot on, and every row crop farming operation is a huge carbon sink. Corn, a relative of bamboo, grows to 10-12 feet capturing millions of tons of CO2 from the atmosphere. Oddly, to the detriment of the fear mongers, the U.S. Has had record yields of corn, wheat and soybeans for two years in a row.

CLIMATE CHANGE IS ALREADY CAUSING DEATHS

Can anyone provide us with the temps in London that supposedly cause these deaths?

Study: Cold Kills 20X More People Than Heat (LINK)

Let's have more Global Warming to save thousands of vulnerable people from hypothermia. OK?

Or do we need to take a global vote to decide what the optimal global surface temperature is, and who gets to control the thermostat?

This is what 400 parts per 1,000,000 looks like.

I have asked dozens and dozens of alarmists how 0.04% content of a trace gas can so efficiently transfer dangerous level of heat to the remaining 99.06% of atmospheric gas.

Blank stares and crickets.

Since it’s hopeless and can’t be fixed, can we just do away with the EPA’s carbon plan?

YES! AND we can do away with the EPA and 'climate' grants to colleges and Universities. YOU found the silver lining...
