Hello, sorry for the delayed response. I left town on Saturday the 24th and just got back home (no laptop).

Yes indeedy I had We’re Only In It For The Money...probably my most favorite early Mothers album along with Uncle Meat and a few others.

Overall I think Overnight Sensation is my alltime favorite album though.

We kinda' think alike then. I LOVED all the old stuff too. I started collecting Zappa after hearing 'Overnight sensation' in the 70s. Truly loved that album and got me hooked on FZ. After hearing it I went about trying to find all the FZ and mothers I could. I had a very tough time finding all of them on LP's. I found a copy of an album called 'Transparency' in a used album bin which was a UK release that had most of the tracks from 'We're only in it for the money' on it plus a few more extra tracks.

Unfortunately, I lost that album due to a break in and went about trying to find a replacement. Never found another copy of it but found out that the tracks were on the American released "in it for the money' so I tried to find a copy of that one. Of course, it wasn't in the stores anymore by then and it was before Amazon and the internet so I went around looking through used album places like Rhino records and such. Never found either one and was very hungry to hear those tracks again. They never got any play on any radio anywhere in those days. Finally got a copy of "In it for money' on CD through Amazon about 10 yrs ago. For some reason those two were the hardest mothers albums to find. Weird because that was really some of the best of the early stuff.

I did another post featuring Zappa's 'The Grand Wazoo' last Friday I posted a link to the full album seperated into it's 5 tracks. didn't get much interest in the post so I don't know if I will continue my "Opaque melodies" posts in the future.
