I’d guess one of the Matines from that base got caught “protesting” in Charlotte. If so, it makes total sense to keep everyone under thumb. /s
As always, the powers that be are screwing the entire battalion because of one ( or more) Jarheads pulling a stupid act.
There’s always 5-10% of most units that are less than stellar. Everyone I’ve been in are the same.

Charlotte starts with “Ch,” Charleston starts with “Ch.” both are in states that end in “Carolina.” Another Carolina, another Civil War? /s

Army is covered by the
Posse Comitatus Act. Marines are not:
The Act only specifically applies to the United States Army and, as amended in 1956, the United States Air Force. While the Act does not explicitly mention the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps, due to their being naval services, the Department of the Navy has prescribed regulations that are generally construed to give the Act force with respect to those services as well.
But a Presidential order overrides Navy regulations not based on legislation.

PC doesn’t apply to the Navy or their army the Marines.

"Probably all those clown sightings /s" Thats probably a better guess than my initial thought; I figured we were making a concerted effort to get to the bottom of this whole Bigfoot thing once and for all...

Charlotte is much quieter than 2 nights ago - amazing what a few NG units and state cops will do to inner city snowflakes. Theyre all for rioting when they can grab stuff, burn stuff or beat people unlike themselves - with no apparent consequences. The good stuff has been picked over already. They're back home listing their recent acquisitions on Craig's List and ebay.

Explain to me how one can protect and defend the Constitution while serving under a Constitutionally ineligible commander in chief.

I hope it is a precaution and not something that involves the ME.

Totally illegal to do this. When I was in the Army in the late 1960's, we trained for riot control. We spent much time drilling in formations with fixed bayonets. The plan was to use us to move mobs. The only protection we had was our helmet liners.
The long and short, the military is trained to act to suppress insurgencies. It's effectiveness will depend upon the moral character of senior and junior soldiers.

Jam cell freq. cutoff internet access. If they wanted to, they can enforce OPSEC. Not to mention severe penalties for anyone caught breaking OPSEC. Loose lips sink ships.

Don’t need any Marines; just position two D-10 dozers at either end of the street, and let them play Chicken!
Good way to lube the tracks.

Posse Comitatus Act. IIRC it's null and void under the "Patriot Act".
