If both spouses are employed, they pay more income tax.
My question was mostly rhetorical but I am sure you know the rules better than I. Honestly, I wonder why most secular couples bother to get married at all. They probably just want a big party where they are the center of attention. Sorry about the cynicism. It’s one of those days.
