I wanted to share this with you all this morning. Someone posted the Jimmy Fallon clips of Donald Trump, and while watching I noticed this clip on the side bar of Jimmy Fallon and Carol Burnett.
And it reminded me how really really great Carol was, ( and still is). I think of the thousands of sketches that she and Tim Conway and Harvey Corman did that were so very very funny.
But Carol is not the only one. America has ALWAYS had great funny ladies, THEN and NOW. Who is your favorite?
By the way, does anyone have a link of when Donald Trump comes on Jimmy Fallon's show. I wanted to see what kind of response he got.
Also, there are pages and pages of google video, images and text on the Trump Fallon thing, but there is hardly anything on the Clinton segment on Friday with him. There's the bit with the surgical mask, but nothing else. Anyone see it? The Tonight Show always was a great gauge of who would win the election. Remember Johnny Carson's Applaud Meter?
Carol Burnett is a favorite, but please, let’s not forget Gilda Radner
Madeline Kahn
Lucille Ball
Carol Burnett
No others in this atmosphere...
Carol’s sidekick, Vicki Lawrence. She’s a delightful actress too.
Madelaine Khan and Carole Kane were great comedic actresses.
Gilda Radner was great in sketch comedy.
But Carol Burnett takes the prize for all around performance over a very long career.
Carol Burnett—always and forever!
I second Carol Burnett.
Good list there.
Phyllis Diller deserves honorable mention. She intentionally kept her act clean.
Old timer — Lucille Ball
More current -— Rita Rudner
“Gracie Allen, hands down.”
I agree, Gracie Allen was the all-time best, with a sweet innocence that was completely disarming. Next, in my opinion, is Carol Burnett. While Lucy depended on props and contrived situations for comedy, Carol, much like Jack Benny, could just stand there and be hilarious.
Of the current crop of female comedians, I like Sarah Silverman. Though a bit rough around the edges, she doesn’t have to totally depend on vulgarity for laughs like so many modern comedians.

Kristen Wiig.
PHUNNY!
Martha Raye, above them all hands down. She was not only a great funny lady she was a great PATRIOT!
Receiver of the Medal of Freedom as well as honored for her steadfast humanitarian work by an Oscar, she was known as Col. Maggie, honorary Colonel of the U.S. Marines and honorary Lt. Col. of the U.S. Army. She was buried at Ft. Bragg post cemetery with full military honors. Her numerous USO Tours throughout WW II, Korea, and Vietnam earned her the love of thousands of our troops.
Paula Poundstone & Rita Rudner immediately come to mind.
Historically, Phyllis Diller was hillarious, and I recall The Lambs Club changed their bylaws to allow her to participate in the Dean Martin Roasts.

That was a hoot.
(Yep, gonna have to vote: Carol Burnett.)
Lucille Ball
Top 10 funniest comedy bit ever.
