I should probably add that in pagan times they did offer blood sacrifice to appease the many Gods of that time...Islam teachings do not believe in any form of blood sacrifice for atonement of any kind....rather soe do teach that during the celebration of Eid ul Adha (Festival of Sacrifice), Muslims all over the world perform the slaughter of animals and see it as symbolic of the Abrham story as depicted in Islam...but not as any sort of redemption...
They actually divide the meat into three equal parts. One part is kept by the person who offers it... The second is given to his relatives. The third part is given to the poor.
Their Qur’an states clearly that the sacrifice has nothing to do with the blood and gore but is done to help the poor and in ‘remembrance’ of Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ishmael at God’s command.....oddly enough even though they don’t believe God asked him to do that....
Like many Quranic writings...they often stumble over each other and contradict....which Muslims have no difficulty that is so.
“Yes, sir, I slaughtered the moose for you. I have slaughtered many much moosen! You’ll have to take my word.”
