Kaepernick refuses to stand for the national anthem
Who cares? I just came home from the 49ers-Rams game (had to leave at half-time). The overwhelming majority of 49ers players - black and white - stood at attention, hands over hearts during the playing of the anthem. Defensive tackle Quinton Dial joined members of the military in holding the giant American flag which covered the field as the anthem was playing.
One guy should not overshadow the many great players who honor the flag and stand for the anthem every week.

One guy should not overshadow the many great players who honor the flag and stand for the anthem every week. Agreed. But Kap hasn't been fired, has he? In fact, his actions have been defended, even praised, in NFL circles.
It's this sort of PC that will destroy the NFL. And no, I'm not happy about it.

For what it’s worth (and it may not be much), many of the black players standing had their hands at their sides or crossed. One black player was standing but had a clenched fist raised. I guess you could call that “splitting the difference.”
