I have no idea. In 70-74 my outfit had to run a mile and a half in X minutes.(DON’t remember). The higher ups always bought new running shoes for the event. I wore combat boots.
Exactly, but the new term is "full-figured." :-)
WTF, so now the military has to avoid any conflict so as not to endanger woman, children and transsexuals? Might as well surrender now and get it over with. Looks like obumber won.
Ping, JJ.
This stuff began long ago, probably in the late 60s as a thought, and eventually moved into action later under Clintoon.
I feel that way because in one of Eastwood’s Movies: The Enforcer circa 1976. In that movie Dirty Harry is moved into Personnel and is conducting interviews for detectives in the SFPD. He asks a sarcastic question: what do you think this job is, some kind of encounter group when asked to rate a lady for the job who has never had any street time.
“...dont they have weight limits for the military anymore....dont they expect their soldiers/sailors to be physically fit, trim?....”
I think you suffer from olde and antiquated ideas.
Today most requirements are merely guidelines, subject to waivers so they can meet recruitment and retention targets.
If they fail with those, sooner or later, they might need to speak of a draft.
[[It wasn’t clear Monday whether the sailor, who had complained of abdominal pains before giving birth, knew she was pregnant.]]
Yeah right .
She may have been so heavy that no one noticed she was pregnant (in which case why is she serving if she is that overweight , weight limits anyone )
You might not know you are a month pregnant but there is no way that anyone can not know once that baby starts kicking .
I know a woman whom the doc told the way she was hinged, she could pass a mack truck. But pass a baby on an aircraft carrier?

Yep,and Clint is still fighting the good fight.
(I fell in love with him as Rowdy Yates———— a real “hunk”, as we used to say.)
.
That’s a whoops. Eyes to fingers without involving the brain. Sorry. Rest of comment still stands.
0bama now to place Planned Parenthood facilities on board carriers.
The Air Force has carriers now??? Man I have to start paying attention.
Egads, I wouldn't doubt it!
America’s “modern” Navy ... ain’t it great?!
After the wreckage of 7 years of Obutthole, the military like the navy might accept most anything willing to enlist. Not like most navy jobs require highly tuned fitness, so they may well let it slide these days, just to get a warm one,
