Before Einstein, the ether meant one thing. After Einstein, a different thing was given the label “ether”. So when I say that Einstein disproved the existence of the ether, I mean the original definition.

If you were going to criticize anything, you should have said that Einstein only explained what Albert A. Michelson and Edward W. Morley had proven by experiment in 1887.

Forgive me, I am not criticizing anything, I was just having a discussion. I did not mean any disparagement.

As for the Morley-Michelson experiment, that can be used to prove the Earth does not rotate.

True, but Einstein did not give it that newer meaning. He meant the aether as it was thought of by Michelson, Morley and Airy. Other scientists started using the term for whatever reasons.
