He only had just 2 recorded records, so his body of work is limited...but, i saw him twice live in Detroit. Im telling you now..there was simply nobody better “live”....i saw them all in their prime, he was the best i ever saw and heard, not even close. Great great player,

Had Randy not died I imagine he’d have joined the likes of Greg Howe (among many others) into a more progressive jazz-influenced style. Dimebag Darrell was on the same road IMHO.

You know, prior to 1900, you rarely heard of musicians dying in airplane crashes. Since Glen Miller’s disappearance, there have been several deaths of musicians in airplane crashes.

I blame the invention of the airplane. I’m no historian, but that’s my suspicion.
