Not to cut Hillary any slack, but allergies are very bad in this area (lower southeast Michigan and Northwest Ohio) and yes, it is pollen. Ragweed mostly.

I sometimes attribute mild spells of sneezing and watery eyes to (unspecified) allergies, but I don't know about coughing.

I cough from allergies. Although the crap I had for two months in the spring ended up being bronchitis. Darn near choked me to death.
