Levin has walked back his initial opposition to Trump.
However, his main themes remain his conservative principles—to which Trump imperfectly adheres —though—considering hillary— he is the lesser of two weavels.
Most of the time however, —when Levin talks about his principles—I’m not sure what he means.
I think he’s referring to “limited government”. But again I’m not sure what that means in practice.
In practice for example its likely that Trump will knock out an immense number of regulations and laws. And enforce others. And streamline still others.
I wonder sometimes as to whether Levin means “limited government” in the same ideal way that the communists talked about the perfect communist state. As an ideal to be strived for but never attained.
