News for you: had it been clear, obvious, or even surmisable PRE-LABOR Day, Levin would not have (1) had to prep his audience for the big announcement, or (2) have had to make the announcement at all.

If he said last week he'd announce after Labor Day who he was voting for, then he'd already decided who he was voting for and just wanted to build up a large enough audience to spike his ratings. Once again, what are you talking about Mr. Fantasy Writer? Obviously, before Levin made his announcement nobody was absolutely sure what he would say. But if one wanted to make a bet, the signs were all there that he'd endorse Trump. I saw that. You didn't.
The signs were there, because whatever Levin said about Trump, what he said about Hillary Clinton was even more negative. You focused on the bogus headlines from months back that took Levin's emotional rant as a definitive statement that he'd never vote for Trump.
How silly was that? Of course, when Levin makes an endorsement, it's going to be a major thing for him, not something he tosses off in the middle of a rant months before.
"Prepping" the audience, making an official announcement: all ways of boosting ratings. But anybody who really thought he was going to back Clinton or Johnson or staying home wasn't paying very close attention.
