Why, in the name of God, should any teenager be given a smart phone. They cost a huge amount that could be saved for their college educations and are mere distracting toys. I own and seldom use a prepaid phone that costs $7.00 per month, plenty enough for parents and kids to keep in touch. If a kid wants more phone time, let him or her get a job and pay for it.
