One of the funniest movie moments ever was when he went into a locked room with Frankenstein.

No mention of blazing saddles I see One of my favorite movies with Wilder in it. He was the fastest gun in the West until a 6-year-old challenged him, and he holstered his gun and crawled into a whiskey bottle. Plus the kid shot him in the ass when he turned around, reason enough to start drinking!

My favorite was Silver Streak. I dont think I ever laughed at a movie that hard before. Me too. Right cultural jokes at the right time. I laughed so hard I cried. Probably would just shrug now. In comedy, timing is everything.

I was just thinking of that as well.
No matter how much I plead and beg - do NOT open this door.
Goes inside.
(Banging on door) Open up this GD door. Get me out of here ...
Now THAT was funny. As were all his movies. Stir Crazy was quirky and good.

I would post some of his best lines, but there are so many it is hard to do. He was just the kind of person who made every line funny.

Rest in peace, Mr. Wilder, and thanks for the smiles and the laughs. You were a classy guy, and will be missed. Now you are with Gilda.

Blazing Saddles was my father’s absolutely favorite movie. I can’t watch without thinking of him.
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
He and Peter Sellers...I remember watching their movies with mom and dad (both parents dead now), we laughed so much. Aaah memories...

The world is less funny today. Now he can unite with his co-stars and be funny in heaven.
It would be toss-up between Young Frankenstein and Blazing saddles for my favorite Gene Wilder role.

Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Silver Streak, and See No Evil, Hear No Evil {his last with Richard Pryor IIRC} was hilarious. I have all of those. He was a good actor.
