Smail Ayad is accused of killing Mia Ayliffe-Chung, 21, in a frenzied knife attack in which he is said to have screamed 'Allahu Akbar'.

s Ayliffe-Chung was butchered in a bloody rampage in front of 30 horrified witnesses on Tuesday night at the hostel in north Queensland.
On his arrest, Ayad allegedly lashed out at police officers and had to be wrestled to the ground and handcuffed.
Ayad then bit a detective in the leg in the police van on the way to the station and had to be subdued using pepper spray and a Taser, it is claimed.
Following his arrest, Ayad was seen by doctors at hospital before being detained at the police station.
He is said to have told other guests they were 'deeply in love' but became outraged when he discovered Ms Aycliffe-Chung had posed for photos in a magazine and did not share his feelings.

Ayad allegedly attacked Ms Aycliffe-Chung while she was sleeping in the dorm room he shared with her and British man Tom Jackson, who is now fighting for his life after he heroically tried to save her life.
The Frenchman reportedly stabbed Mr Jackson 15 times in the face, including his eye, when he tried to intervene.
Mia's friend and fellow Briton Chris Porter, 21, was forced to jump from the balcony to escape Ayad, according to his brother Aaron.
