At the very least, you should take Vitamin D, as even conventional medicine sources are beginning to recommend. Can Vitamin D Help MS? Your doctor may be willing to let you pursue such therapies while under his care, but if not, LE also has on their website a directory of doctors who might be consulted for help with such an approach. Your niece can join Life Extension for something like $100/yr...and get short consults with their on call doctors. Might be worth it. Their September 2016 magazine has an article about Vit D and MS...also the Dr Wright I mentioned above is on their board...fwiw.
