Well, I think that ugly bloated 380 can do that.
But it will never be as awesome as the 747. And 40 years too late.
It also will never do freight. Not with that stupid slouching design forcing the cockpit on the first level, in the way of front entry.
Qantas told me the 380 is used on L.A. - Sydney runs but it does not have the capacity to go Sydney - Dallas. The 747 is required for that, and I have taken it many times.
Airbus killed the idea of making a 380F. It would have had 25% less payload than a 747F.
