you re an old curmudgeon..Bolt is world class athlete...fastest man on earth....the fact you would excuse him if he was an American is very telling
>>I went from being a total NASCAR fanatic to being a casual observer only interested in who won the race. I dont even watch any of the races anymore.<<
I am glad to know I’m not the only one who gave up on NASCAR.
I said I might like him better, but as I said in another reply, I didn’t like Carl Lewis and I’m not a big Micheal Phelps fan either. As one responder said, I was also a big Emmett Smith fan, who didn’t think he’d changed the world by scoring a touchdown.
I also don’t like folks calling sprinters ‘the world’s fastest man. I’d like to see him race the 800 meter champion and see how he does over that distance.
I enjoy his showboating for the most part, since it appears out of fun rather than arrogance. And Mrs. JimRed will verify my curmudgeonhood!
Because he’s amazing. He’s hands down the best in his sport ever, period. He wins every race, he sets every record. The only bad part about Bolt is we’ll never actually know how fast he can go, because he always lets off the throttle when nobody can beat him. All that ego is earned, he’s one of the most popular athlete in the world. I know NBC has been cutting out the introductions and that’s sad, the cheers he gets everywhere are amazing, because no matter their nationality the audience they’re about to see a once in a lifetime event.
I was hoping that someone would push him hard enough to break 19.
I consider Bolt better because he just wins. And he wins inbetween Olympics. It’s not Bolt’s fault track doesn’t have 4 different versions of every race. Phelps is a great swimmer when America is paying attention, but those other 3 years he’s not generally very good. Bolt never steps on a track without being prepared to win going away.
It’s the difference between male and female.
Female: overcoming the tragedy and keeping the family together, sniff
Male: meeting the challenge and bringing success to the family
Yes. He’s earned every drop of that acclaim. He is quite simply the greatest sprinter ever.
Not really. But my solution is to not watch the parts of the olympics i do not wish to.
Amen to that. It’s a delight to watch Usain St. Leo Bolt. Yes, that’s his middle name, a non PC Catholic, who crosses himself before every race. And what’s with Jamaica? It has about the same number of people as Kansas and it happens to have the fastest sprinters in the world. I marvel at that fact.
Eaton is half black/half white...raised by his white mother....
