In my youth we used to camp on weekends under some cottonwood trees next to a pool on Rocky Arroyo. There was a gravestone there that legend had it that was where the horse thief was caught. The date was “1910”. This was in the sixties. I remember thinking that was just a few decades ago and things in these parts probably had not changed a great deal.
