Not sure, but I would suspect Cokie took the stance that what Bill Clinton did in his private life is no ones business. It doesn’t matter that he transformed a cigar into a sex toy and employed it on a young intern, while he was in the Oval Office. That would definitely not qualify as morally tainted, would it Cokie?

As a matter of fact, during the Lewinsky scandal, Cokie referenced the Internet chat rooms, for her MORAL GUIDANCE:

Sam Donaldson, the show’s co-host, interjected that if Newsweek felt it did not have what was necessary to publish the story, he would not criticize the editors for holding off. The other co-host, Cokie Roberts, then turned the conversation to another topic.

Internet chat rooms were also filled with comments like “Even if they did sleep together, they were willing participants, and she needs to get a life.”
