Google appears to be working on a new operating system that's written from scratch and appears to be target both phones and PCs, among other form factors.
This new OS is called Fuchsia and powered by what they call the Magenta and LK kernel options. Google hasn't formally announced this new OS while the Git repository cites it as "Pink + Purple == Fuchsia (a new Operating System)." This Git repository is the main source of Fuschia/Magneta information right now.
LK is their kernel for small systems / embedded applications while Magenta is designed for "modern phones and modern personal computers with fast processors." Some more details via this documentation.
It will be interesting to see what Fuschia is all about once Google reveals more details and if it's more than just an interesting research project or perhaps the future for Android / Chrome OS.
My guess is that the original name was “Red.”
There were some bells and whistles that were called “White.”
A team threaded the code together and called it “Pink.”
There were some other bells and whistles called “Blue.”
A different team threaded that code together and that became “Purple.”
Now it’s time to mesh “Pink” and “Purple” to get “fuchsia.”
If they’re going to name it after colors instead of sweets they should have started with Auburn.
I heard from Fox business Vanity, he said that white house sent 25 people to work in Google, and to have 22 Google executives to work in White house.
People should be concerned.
