Bismarck yes...Yamato no.

Yamato was too well armored and armed over the Iowas.

Iowas had radar fire control, and their 16 inch guns were, ballistically , almost on a par with the Yamato class's 18 inch guns.
The Iowa would have been scoring hits, before a Yamato even got a straddle.
The Iowa might have be damaged, but it would decisively defeat any Japanese BB of WWII.
