“The mother then took her six-year-old child into the woods to use the restroom, “

I’m a city girl——I didn’t know that they have restrooms in the woods.
How convenient. :-)
.
My daughter uses a potty bowl for our granddaughter. In the car, on the go, anywhere where a restroom isn't available. Simple to provide some privacy with a small blanket or jacket, then you take the potty bowl elsewhere to dump it. Reminds me of the time before she carried a potty bowl, we were on a trail and she took our granddaughter behind some trees for privacy. We walked up the trail a little bit to wait for them, and laughed because we easily saw them doing the bathroom bit behind trees from the new location.
Needless to say, that six-year-old is lucky the cat didn't grab her by the neck, which could have been fatal.
How convenient. :-)
My idea of camping is a ten-year-old Holiday Inn.
