Gold Medal Olympic Star doesn’t think his life worth living.
Doesn’t take brains to swim.
Have any of you ever had an experience where God pulled you out of dark times through a book, mentor, friend, prayer, etc.?
Yes to all of the above. Worldly success does not sustain me.
The Lord has helped me through many different writers/believers. He brought me to a place where His Word now makes more sense than all of them, but He met me where I was at. He is so kind.

It is hard to believe a world wide hero could reach that point without any real catalyst. He was just a year or two off of the ultimate level of success. I hope to hear more later. It’s a real lesson on life’s difficulties.

I thought it was useless. I think Rick Warren is useless.
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile, so if it helped him, or anyone, I’m thankful for that.
David Boudia went through almost the exact same experience after Beijing. Makes one wonder if there is not some type of lasting mental harm induced by the stress and training at such a young age.
Could also be they had pedophiles for coaches.
