When you get cut off, stuck behind a slow poke in the passing lane or see someone whizzing by at 90 miles per hour in a 45 mph zone, it's tradition to check the license plate and say, "No wonder--they're from such-and-such state."
Now there's a study that gives credence to that claim.(snip)
Here's a list of the worst, and the reasons why:
1. Florida. Floridians Google "speeding tickets" and "traffic tickets" more than any other state. They also have the second lowest number of insured drivers in the nation.
2. Mississippi. The state had the fifth-highest number of deaths resulting from auto accidents and the 12th highest rate of DUI arrests per driver in the country. Like Florida, relatively few people are insured.
3. Oklahoma. When it comes to states with many uninsured drivers, Oklahoma has more than its fair share: Only 74 percent of its drivers are insured. It also has one of the 15 worst scores in DUIs per thousand drivers and the number of people killed per thousand drivers in auto accidents.
4. New Jersey. The Garden State has the second-most deaths per driver.
5. Delaware. New Jersey's neighbor and rival for worst drivers in the mid-Atlantic region, Delaware is the only state with more deaths per driver than New Jersey.
6. Alabama. This state has bad scores all around.
7. Vermont. It leads the nation in DUIs per driver with 50 per thousand drivers.
8. Tennessee. The state is one of the least insured states in the country, with 20 percent of drivers not having car insurance. Tennessee also has the 18th highest number of deaths per thousand drivers.
9. Texas. It has the highest percentage of deaths from drunk driving at 40 percent.
10. Nevada. Nevada is the third-worst state for traffic and speeding tickets, as well as being the 17th worst state for DUIs.

Definitely Boston. Then New York City.
As far as I can tell....particularly here in the north woods
Every Italian taxi driver thought he was the reincarnation of Juan Fangio.
Still, I loved the place.
“”that doesnt also sell beer complete with a small brown bag
Yeah, sure. They’re called radar bags. You don’t have those where you’re from?””
Any true Texan knows you use to bag’s, it’s called a Texas Cozey.
“”ou nailed it on the Texas yahoo Cowboys and their dam pickem-up trucks. Worst left-lane campers I have ever seen.””
If you see then doing it call LEO. that;s against the law in Texas. Left lane for passing only!

Well down there you likely don’t see much rust.
So with some wrenching skills you can do a quarter million miles pretty easy these days.
Even up here in the salt belt the Pick A Part is full of Mexicans keeping their 20 yr old minivans on the road.
Well, I wasn’t exactly cold sober.
Boston is a dance. It's like a buffalo stampede - if you run with the angry moronic beasts, with the right balance of aggressive and ... Lionel Messi ... and then a few time a month beat a cab or a bus into a spot on Mem or Storrough ... then you can be proud of your skill.
The roads are really bad though, because Deval Patrick had to have his billion dollar drapes ... and every hack politicians' 7 ne'er do well nephews must have a state job collecting tolls (they make over 75K with a little overtime) ... adjusted for insurance costs and all of that (i.e. on tiop of that) ... still, to merely own a car in Boston is 600$ a year in repairs more than average. I once replace 3 wheels (not tires) in a single year, but of course I was more than glad to pay for Deval's drapes.
Boston is beautiful, and truly ugly. I'm glad I lived there, and glad I never will again, if the Gods favor me.
I grew up in NY and learned to drive there but I now live in MA. and there is no comparison.Massachusetts drivers are totally inconsiderate and clueless.God help you if you ever need the break down lane. It only exists for people who need to get where they’re going ...fast. We also have a place in Florida and they are pretty bad but I still think MA. drivers are the worst.
Boston
mAssholes are aggressive drivers but they must posses some skill to pull the moves they make. You gotta give them credit for that. To survive Boston you must be a good driver. I’ve driven in some pretty hostile environments, in DC, Atlanta but Bean town can be intimidating.
9. Texas. It has the highest percentage of deaths from drunk driving at 40 percent.
*******************************
Many of those drunk drivers aren’t citizens of Texas or the USA; they’re illegal aliens.
MA was my first thought.
I agree with your observation.
Louisiana didn’t make the list!
Yabbut, Juan Fangio was Argentinian, not Italian...........
First, Lexus SUVs are the new Buicks. Second, we in the Northwest have an acronym, DWO.
I know, but I never said Italian taxi drivers were bright.
