Its their home too. If Texas decides to stay and Alabama secedes, will you be throwing away everything to move there? An ethnically- and politically-diverse nation-state cannot just secede and have all the “wrong” people peacefully leave. It will be like Bosnia, not like 1861 South Carolina. FReepers need to get this whole “short, victorious war” BS out of their heads. They also need to get this “amicable divorce” BS out of their heads.

Look, a state can, if it wants, become independent. I would think a state thus freed from Fedgov would take matters of civil violence into their own hands.

The state still has a police force, a governor, a legislature and all the trappings of a national government IN PLACE second one upon secession.
