Difficult to email a signed document unless you have a scanner, easy to send with a fax machine.

I’ve got a scanner app for the iPhone. Works quite well.

We use DocuSign extensively to sign our contracts. No need to print out, ink sign, then scan back in — all done with secure electronic signature.

If you do print out and ink sign, you can take a picture with your phone and send it to us. We accept that as the signed contract. No scanner necessary.

Lastly, most modern office printers double as scanners and often as fax machines. Or you can scan and directly email.

Lots of ways around it without having a fax machine.

The only reason it is difficult to email a signed document is because the law has not caught up with technology. I can easily create a signed document that cannot be forged, and will mathematically prove that the document has not only been signed by me, but also that it has not been tampered with in any way. Google PGP or GPG. This is not rocket science, and has existed since the mid ‘90s.
