Oh you so superior people who haven’t turned on TV in 2 years. You’re so much better than us inferior folks who like to stay abreast of things by flipping around the tube.

Sorry we wasted so much of your superior time by making you post that to this thread but then you had to mention how awesome you are by not watching TV, right?

So thanks, I guess.

True. We are. Cleaning out my desk would be a more productive use of my time than watching NBC and Brazil promote Global Warming.

So...why ARE you watching?

hmmmm.    mr. bullish seems to imply that "flipping around the tube" keeps him more "abreast of things." than the rest of us.

Anyone?

Someone's scared cow get poked?

Just admit your addiction, many have it. You probably get every reference to that Stein*** something TV show that FReepers are always posting. I am always mystified.

Many of us just find most of TV execrable and miserable to watch with all the commercials, PC BS, etc. You apparently find it fine. No excuse to dump on those that refuse to watch it.

I personally can’t stomach television at all. Most people who feel as I do look at television less as real information and more as programming. That is, being shown what someone wants you see in the way they want you to see it. We view it as a waste of time.

But I am sure you already know all that. Television is fine for at least two types of people: Those who just absorb it all with no discrimination at all (and there is a huge number of them) and those who see it with a jaundiced eye but can continue to watch, which I assume you do.

The difference is (I presume) that you are still able to view it with a discriminating and jaundiced eye, whereas many of use who view it in that fashion simply can’t watch it any more.

Most people I know don’t watch much television. I do. I watch a lot of tvland, some hallmark, Id channel(love Joe Kenda),Fox. Heck, I watch Naked and Afraid. I sometimes wonder how tv stays viable when so many people don’t watch.

If your way of "staying abreast" is by watching TV news, then you are being misinformed. You get more complete news on the Internet. Like FR and Drudge.
