It should not be forgotten that these are offshoots of the poison of progressivism.
Randolph Bourne, a progressive intellectual 100 years ago, is who invented the concept of transnationalism.
Ping.....
Bourne’s transnationalism was aligned with another term that he coined, “cosmopolitanism”. He was not a progressive in the modern sense.
Although Bourne considered himself a leftist, the positions of left and right then have been nearly flipped today. H.L. Mencken and Albert Jay Nock were considered to be on the left, as was anyone else who opposed Wilson’s war in Europe.
Bourne also coined the term, “welfare-warfare state” to describe Wilson’s form of collectivism. We have lived under such a regime since that time.
It reads like a united nations report on the benefits of multiculturalism. It’s insipid. The honest reality of national culture is that it needs a blueprint- a uniting factor that holds it together. It can’t be solely about the words written in a constitution. By necessity, there must be a uniting cultural structure, guiding newcomers in language, manners, philosophy, ideals & loyalty. Though we rarely openly acknowledge it, The truth of our successful American expiriment is that we always have been a self-governing nation in the British empire. We are a nation, still, populated predominantly by British & Irish peoples. They were the originators of our language, religious ideals, common law, political philosophies, food, hygeine & entrepreneurial spirit. There is an obvious reason why we have a ‘special relationship’ with the U.K- because she is our motherland. I swear, progressives don’t seem to get any smarter- even after a century! :)
> failure of the “melting-pot.”
It hasn’t failed. It’s been replaced by a “salad”. This was accomplish by the efforts of the communist “Franklin School” & their “critical theory” which has undermined the foundation of civilization. Every time you hear “diversity is our strength” you are hearing the fruits of their labors. The fact is: E Pluribus Unum.
