Does this make any sense at all? What is the bloody point? May be people in Chicago will wake up and vote correctly in the future to clean up this mess.
I think this is unfortunate because in spite of her father’s horrible stranglehold on Illinois politics and thus progress, Lisa Magigan has been a pretty decent attorney general. Trying to be fair...
But I skimmed over the brief and it seems the main argument is that transgeneder people are suffering from discrimination, and there is no reason not to accommodate their needs this way. The fear that sexual assaults or other traumatic injury will occur is deemed “speculative” and they claim there’s no cost impact such as Texas is claiming (i.e. building new bathrooms).
This “speculative” argument may be true but it’s specious. Suppose I say that it’s speculative that putting a stop sign up at a busy intersection will save lives, and block it’s installation. A child gets killed and then it’s no longer speculative. Does a smart woman like Madigan really want us to wait until children suffer trauma and are damaged for life before she will accept that boys in girls bathrooms is a bad idea?
It does if you consider that the legislators are gay and have filed their own legislation to ensure they will have ample opportunities to assist young children learn more about the homosexual lifestyle up close and personal. They're just trying to educate the "children"..../s
