A northeastern Indiana rapper took a disturbing and dangerous chance with his own life recently in Indianapolis. He shot himself in the face intentionally. He said he did it all to get attention.

Everyone who pulls dangerous stunts does it to get attention - from Evel Knievel to the morons in the Johnny Knoxville show "Jackass". There was a post to FR this morning about some guy who planned to jump from an airplane without a parachute. I said it there and I'll say it here - it doesn't pay to encourage these types. They'll just learn that they can get the attention they crave acting like idiots, and watching idiots in action crosses from entertaining to pathetically sad very quickly.

From an ER I spent time at 8 years ago, a kid came in with a gunshot to the cheek.

He also did it himself. He said it was a 22 and he thought it would hurt as much as a piercing.

The point-blank muzzle pressures from the revolver blew out a 1 inch slice of skin.

The bullet knocked the top off of 2 teeth.

The bullet then shredded his tongue.

Instead of travelling through the other cheek, it went out of his mouth and lodged into his girlfriend who was sitting next to him.
