I do suspect that Ted Cruz is on his way to the Supreme Court and that this stance was chosen deliberately (and perhaps with agreement) so that it would deflate the potential objection of Democrats in 2017 (under a Trump presidency) that Cruz was too close politically to the administration.
And let’s face it, a Cruz endorsement at this point is hardly necessary. Where’s the average Cruz supporter going to go, if not to Trump? Social conservatives are not really with the libertarian program on marijuana, amnesty or same sex marriage. There is no chance of a Cruz supporter voting for Hillary Clinton. The only choice they now have (one that I already made in April) is to support Trump or remain silent.
Whatever you are drinking has screwed with your mind
Good Grief! Posters said you Cruz supporters would make any excuse for Cruz and you are certainly doing that. He lied, broke his pledge and couldn’t even attempt to unify the party. He will NEVER be on the SCOTUS.
True. Ted endorsed Trump by implication. All these people getting upset about this are just helping the Democrat narrative of a split Republican party that can't win the election.
We will win. This is the year of the outsider, as we saw in the primaries. And our turnout is much larger than theirs this time.
The only rational reason Trump would have to nominate Cruz to the SC would be to be rid of him.
Trump clearly loves this country. Even though it would be expedient for him to save himself the bother of having to slap down Cruz again for the nomination in 2020, he would never risk this deranged worm on the highest court in the land.
