The establishment was blindsided by Trump, but they’re not going to let Cruz find an opening. They pretend to like him because of their hate for Trump, but they hated Cruz first.
Make no mistake, Cruz has always been part of the establishment; he's just an unpopular member due to being generally insufferable.
