Private university presidents are paid big salaries for their fund-raising prowess. If a guy can bring in hundreds of millions in new money, a couple of million for his salary is a small price to pay.

I know Mitch Daniels would have taken a 75% pay cut to move from president at Purdue to Indiana governor.
And he’s second lowest paid president in the big 10.
The football coach, who has won I think 4 games in 3 seasons makes 4 times as much as Daniels.
