On this day in 1780, Americans win the Battle of Williamsons Plantation (or Hucks Defeat) in South Carolina. Wait until you hear what one brave woman did, despite the fact that an irate British officer was literally in her face!

Am I THAT old ?!?!
Am I THAT old ?!?!
It was the Revolutionary War 235 years ago.
Our family history became a really strange personal journey for my family. Our ancestors were paid for their military service in land grants in Alabama. I was raised in North Georgia and my Dad was transferred by GE to Huntsville, Alabama in 1966. When that job ended in 1968 he was transferred to Waynesboro, VA in Augusta County where he retired from GE and moved back to North Georgia.
It was a few years later that my Aunt's genealogy search found that our ancestors originally came from that same area of Virginia where our family lived and our ancestors were included on a plaque in the Huntsville, AL Courthouse as Revolutionary War veterans and founding citizens of Madison County, AL. We had backtracked their 200 year ago journey. Cosmic synchronicity is a wonder to behold.
Thanx.
