Single payer out-and-out socialized medicine is being maneuvered on to the stage as the “only answer.” When we reduce American Medicine to English standards the systems in both countries will deteriorate rapidly from there to third world status without the benefit of UN help and of medical missionaries. The formerly and still relatively (to the rest of the world) free market medical system in the USA is the sole reason that drug research and medical advances are made. Our market pays for all of it, here and in every other country where there are large drug companies doing research. When the American market is gone so will Research and Development be gone. Governments won’t pay for it. Making something new costs money that could be better used buying votes and padding politicians’ bank accounts. If a new treatment doesn’t exist we don’t think about it because we have not seen it. Not paying for R&D will not cost votes. Some drugs like antibiotics must be continually replaced with new ones as the bacteria and virii develop immunities. When all the world’s medicine is socialized where will the new antibiotics come from? The effect of no new research will not be felt for a time and the labs and talents will atrophy. Medicine will revert to a pre 20th century status. You get sick you die.

At some point the market will address "health insurance"

Already groups of doctors are setting up concierge services that patients can join...

Pay an upfront annual fee and a small fee for various services per visit...

Much like a insurance company, but minus the overhead cost, office costs, compliance costs, etc...

As an example you pay $3,000 to sign up, or it gets pro-rated per month and you get a list of services provided at a small fee.., much like a co-pay...

Then a family can buy catastrophic insurance pretty cheap with a large deductible to cover anything major...

What do the idiot politicians care? It is your $2,400,000,000 that was wasted...not theirs. What criminals.
