I will say this root canal therapy procedure has come a long long way since the 70s
I would agree. I had two of them in the span of two weeks. The first one was done on the wrong tooth (can't really blame the orthodontist) and when the pain continued, he did the next tooth for free......Two for the price of one, can't beat that!......LOL!
Then the pain returned so he had his partner try to figure out what was going on. The best explanation they could come up with was that I had a fracture at the root that was undetectable by x-ray that was being impacted by inflammation in the deep tissue and once the inflammation subsided, the pain went away.
Just like the medical profession, it's not an exacting science for cures. The original Ortho is a member of the Michigan Dental Board and he actually asked me if he could use my weird case in future board studies..........I said sure
