Objections to mindless, over-reaching bureaucracy only happen when they start biting you in the behind. The elites who are all in favor of endless regulation and do-goodism never have to suffer the consequences themselves - that’s part of the design to keep them advocating it.

Bold statement. What specific cost to the environment is there? It's "enormous" so they ought to be able to photograph or measure it, right? Or is that just pure hyperbole?
