We have an Eagle who regularly flies over our place. I’ve been known to just shut the tractor off to sit and watch. Such a grand bird. I don’t use any chemicals on our 10 acre lawn. It is full of mice, toads, chipmunks, tree rats (squirrel) and occasionally see a mink roll through. I am waiting for the day I get to see the big bird eat.

We have a telephone pole in front of the gate on the road below. It’s a favorite eating place for local Golden Eagles, Hawks, and Falcons. Often, sometimes daily we see them with their latest catch chowing down, dropping the bones, and other parts they don’t want off the side of the upper cross timbers supporting the electrical wires. It’s not something most folks would appreciate. Kinda disgusting actually.

I live where there is no shortage of bald eagles (at present I drive past - and always check out - an occupied nest* during the week). IMO, they are not best viewed during mealtime... they are a lot more noble-looking when they are searching for a square meal than actually enjoying one.

*I had one of the pair fly out of the ditch in my direction one morning, with some sort of critter in its talons and trying to get altitude. I slowed down, but that bird was uncomfortably close by the time he finally cleared my car. They are big enough birds to begin with, but when one is about six or seven feet away and coming at you with the wings a-going, they get REALLY impressive.
