People of little means to start with have been treated very badly by trade policy and environmental regulation in West Virginia. You seem to be advocating just leaving them to their own devices after this massive flooding on top of all that.

That's a very good point. I equate that to the argument I constantly make about the old honest people still living in the city of Detroit to the fools who say they should just move out.

Their home are worthless on the market and they can't afford to flee their plight........They're hopelessly trapped.

“People of little means to start with have been treated very badly by trade policy and environmental regulation in West Virginia. “

Excuses don’t fly. If you are insured, your insurance company is legally obliged to repay for your house and pay for your temporary housing. If you are not insured, don’t expect the taxpayers to foot your bill. Act responsibly and you are not at a mercy of others.

“You seem to be advocating just leaving them to their own devices”

Not just them, but everybody. You make exceptions for “victims” of disasters and you will have rules for victims of past injustices, whether real or imaginary. I just don’t want taxpayers’ hard earned money going to the takers.
