I met Pat several times ironically in washerteria where several of her players were living. She was always checking up on them and hovering over them like a Mother. We had a few conversations and she was very congenial. I was just out off active duty and new to Tennessee the fall of 1977 and didn't know who she was until later. RIP Pat.

I met the team twice flying into Knoxville on the Atlanta connector.
We would all be at baggage claim and she would have her team away from the conveyor. Everyone got their luggage before the team did. This was the early 90’s.
Those small acts of discipline were nice to see.
RIP Coach Summitt.

The washerteria was in the apartment complex. The players were not living in the washerteria but it was in the complex. I didn't make that too clear. I am not a professional like those that write for the NYT or WP.
