We forget in countries where association football (soccer) is the #1 sport by a long way, there is ENORMOUS pressure on the entire national team. As such, the coach of the English team resigning after this shocking quarterfinal loss surprises no one who has a serious interest in the sport.

Remember the Brazilian national team coach Luiz Felipe Scolari? He was immediately "sacked" after Brazil being seriously beaten in the semifinal and third-pace games in the 2014 World Cup.
